Greek Money Mission to Moscow – What Tsipras can achieve

Greece is running out of money and its Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is addressing Russia for help. What a scandal in the eyes of Brussel beaurocrats, but indeed a realistic move of Tsipras. EU governments unswervingly hold their opinion of getting their money back. Therefore Greek government needs a second option. This second option could be Russia. Putin has some quarrels with EU concerning the Ukraine. For this reason, it would be a good chance for him giving a tit-for-tat response.

Certainly, it is unlikely, that Russias president Putin will give money to Greece without any compensating measures. The West will be anxious to know what rabbit Putin will pull out of his hat. Once again in history European scene is changing dramatically since the Ukraine war. In a new volte-face, euro-crisis and Ukraine-crisis are entangling with an outcome nobody of us knows.

Unfortunately, European leaders are acting, as if they are still in the Cold War of the 1980s. World has changed, but not the sentiment of our political elite. They are constantly ignoring the political and ideological ramifications of the new situation in Europe. This makes the situation really dangerous.
